It started in 2002 with a grandmother, a dream, and a wall full of snowboards.

Founder Jesse Walcutt, backed by his grandmother Jeannie Stanford, opened the first Jesse’s Xtreme Sports Bar in Pompano Beach. Skate decks on the walls, adrenaline in the air — it was a passion project that had no idea how big it would get.

In 2006, we planted our permanent roots right here on Atlantic Boulevard in Margate. Jesse’s wife Jen came aboard and together they built something that outlasted every trend, every competitor, and more than a few memorable Saturday nights. In 2021, longtime General Manager Lisa Machado became a partner — because that’s what you do when someone helps build the place with you.

The rebrand in 2022 wasn’t a retreat. We didn’t lose our edge — we found our purpose. Jesse’s Sports Bar, Grill & Liquor Store. The name got longer because the mission got clearer: great food, great drinks, and a room full of people who’d rather be here than anywhere else.

And we mean full room. Fifteen TVs with no bad seats. Pool tables. Dart boards. Shuffleboard. Skill games. A jukebox. Monthly events that range from First Friday Comedy to Dungeons & Dragons nights to things we probably shouldn’t put on a church bulletin. We’ve sponsored local softball teams, rugby clubs, and charity golf tournaments. We show every game, no favorites — first come, first served, every fan welcome.

The food grew up too. Chef Kayla Cooper runs a kitchen that’s earned its reputation — award-winning wings, massive hand-crafted cheesesteaks, blue cheese and ranch that regulars will genuinely argue about, and rotating specials that keep even the Tuesday night usuals guessing. Come hungry.
